UKTFCL Rules- 1. League Structure
- Season General Layout. Clans can only play other clans in their Division.
- The Premiership
- Division 1
- Division 2
- Division 3
- Division 4
- Division 5
- Season Time length.
-
The season length will be 10 weeks with 2 catch-up weeks. See the current seasons timetable for the exact dates.
- By the end of the season a clan should have played a maximum of 20 games with a maximum of 2 games played on each week's maps.
- Clan Match Schedules.
-
Its up to the clan to decide which days to play there matchs and at what time. All matchs are to start at 20:00gmt, with the exception that 9v9 weeks start at 20:30 to allow extra time to get the extra player.
- These matches can be rearranged for another day and even a different time on the same day. The first rearrangement CANNOT be refused by either clan, but it has to happen at least 24 hours before the match. Sunday matches have to be rearranged by the preceding wednesday. Just to emphasise that this rearrangement cannot be refused, some clans cannot play matches on certain days, so will have to rearrange all matches that are on that day throughout their schedule, and they will not be penalised for this. If there is an argument over rearranging a match get an admin to help. You have to be reasonable about rearranging, friday and saturday are not valid match days, and on monday alot of clans have vitality matches. Foreign clans usually cannot start later than 20:30gmt, so bear all this in mind
- The idea behind it is to get all matches played, and avoid clans running out of time to play all their matches. This system places the onus on clans to organise matches. You can rearrange matches many weeks ahead, the rearranged match will not be on the uktfcl scheduler system, so it is advisable to keep logs of the changes as proof, if there is any dispute over a match, and as always admins can help out.
- Rearranging a match the second time is subject to the usual rules, and can lead to a default loss for the clan unable to make the date if not warned at least 24 hours prior to match. Rearrangement is always preferred and will be used by the admins in almost every situation, any clans taking advantage of this will be punished.
- The Scheduling system will tell you which clan you play on which week.
- Miscellaneous
- You may not play ahead of schedule; games cannot be played in advance of their scheduled week.
- Clans Dropping
- In the Premiership, Divisions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, if a clan drops out, and then all points gained/lost against dropped clans will be discounted.
- All divisions may have clan movement within the first three weeks. A lower division clan may be moved in to replace the clan as soon as possible if within the first 3 weeks of the season. Where possible Admins will endeavour to consult clans prior to there move, ultimately, admins will move clans, to provide the divisions with as much balance as possible, and to give the most competitive environment available. This is for the benefit of the league and all clans involved. The admins decision in this is FINAL
-
Referees are highly recommended for every game and will be assigned as much as possible, but overall it is the clans' responsibility for obtaining a referee. For more information on referees please look at the referee's page. Referees may be found before games in the #far2cool.uktfcl-ref IRC room on QuakeNet. If you want to book a referee for your game, please enter the match details here: www.jestserve.com/uktfcl. Referees will be focus on the matches booked on this page as a higher priority to those that are not, and it's in your best interest to put your match down well in advance, suggested time being at least 48 hours prior to the match.
-
Your clan must have an IRC room on QuakeNet with an L or a Q to hold the channel for you; this is so that opposing clans are able to contact you quickly and easily. The simple fact is that 99% of clans in the UKTFCL are on QuakeNet, so to play in our league this is a necessary requirement. If you have trouble obtaining a Q or L please refer to the FAQ on www.quakenet.eu.org the league Admins have no power to issue them.
- Match Requirements
- Maximum Teams Sizes For;
- The Premiership
- Division 1
- Division 2
- Division 3
- Division 4
- Division 5
All games should be played 8 v 8, with the exception of any 9v9 weeks, these will be clearly marked on the schedule. 9v9 is mandatory for certain maps, and not up to the clans (the maps of that week, will reflect this). If one clan turns up with less than the agreed number of players they must play the game at a disadvantage, or give a default win to the opposing clan. The league is about playing matches, and will try and keep default wins to a minimum, in all circumstances, it is recommended that the clans try and reschedule, and that if a clan knows it will be short players, that they tell the opposition as early as possible.
- If you cannot get enough players together then you must contact the opposing clan (clan leader or war arranger is best) to reschedule at least 24 hours before the game is to be played. You need not drop players to keep the teams even at any point in the game.
- Server and Player Info.
- If you play on a non-approved server and there is a problem, UKTFCL Admins will not help you resolve any disputes.
- The approved server config is here: http://forums.far2cool.com/forum.aspx?FID=1
- A match must last 30 minutes on each of the two maps, this making a whole game last approximately 1 hour 6 minutes (including the two pre-match periods of three minutes each), and assuming a prompt start by both teams.
-
Every player in the UKTFCL MUST provide the WON ID/Steam ID they intended to use, failure to so will means they will not be allowed to play, if they do they will subject to Merc punishments. If you have a second WONID, come and see an Admin in #far2cool.uktfcl-admin to tell them the second ID. There is a maximum of 2 WONID’s and 1 Steam ID per person, if you have more than this, you will have to make arrangements to limit this to accordinly, this is not the Admins job. DO NOT play a match with a second ID until Admins know of the circumstance. In all situations it is recommended that ALL players have their own WONID/SteamID, this cuts down on Merc’ing claims made by the opposition, and can stop the clans reputation getting dirtied.
-
Any player not on the clans UKTFCL site database will be counted as a mercenary, all players must be fully approved and on-site before they play, if they don't the full anti-Merc rules will be used. If there is a problem with signing up players to a clan, ask an Admin AT LEAST 24 hours before the match is due to start, problems occurring at last minute will often not be solvable, and the player won't be able to play.
- We encourage HLTV to be used in all matches possible, neither clan can refuse it's use, and the only time it might be removed is if there are lag problems with the server and an Admin or referee stops the HLTV to see if it helps (only an Admin or referee can do this). The obvious exception being in a 9v9 week where the server is max 18 players, HLTV does not have to be used in this case. Though it is recommended that each player record a demo of the match in case of any dispute.
- The setup of HLTV is quite simple and is all contained within the hltv.cfg, to start it recording type "record demoname" where demoname is the name you want to give the demo, as each map loads it will add a -1 or -2 etc. onto the end of this name.
Postponing a match.- Clans should let the opposition know that a game has been suspended by the following ways:
- If by IRC and site than 24 hours notice must be given.
Scoring- Match Scoring.
- All matches are played over 2 different maps. Win/Loss/Draw for each match is decided by winning/losing/drawing each individual map, and not on overall score over the two maps (NB: bonus points are based on combined scores).
- Win +3 Points to the winning clan
- Loss 0 Points to the losing clan
- Draw +1 Points to both clans.
- No-Show/Default Win 2 points taken from missing clan
- 1 bonus point is awarded to the winning clan for a SUM score of 100+ points in any one match; the losing team may be awarded a bonus if their SUM score lies within 100 points of winning team AND they score over 100 points over the two maps. Only 1 bonus point is available per match per clan.
-
e.g.
clan 1 - map 1 = 150
clan 2 - map 1 = 50
clan 1 - map 2 = 100
clan 2 - map 2 = 30
clan 1 gets 3 points for win + 1 bonus point for score over 100 points over 2 maps
---------------------------
clan 1 - map 1 = 150
clan 2 - map 1 = 100
clan 1 - map 2 = 100
clan 2 - map 2 = 50
clan 1 gets 3 points for win + 1 bonus point for score over 100 points over 2 maps.
Clan 2 gets 0 for the loss + 1 bonus for getting within 100 points of winners score ( clan 1 got 250 points ||| clan 2 got 150 points || 250-150=100 = +1 bonus point) had clan 2 only had 149 then they would not received the bonus as the points difference would be 101
clan 1 - map 1 = 100
clan 2 - map 1 = 100
clan 1 - map 2 = 50
clan 2 - map 2 = 50
clan 1 gets 150 points over 2 maps
1 point each for draw + 1 bonus each
Large scoring maps will be subjected to the following
For cz2 you should half the points when totalling it.
i.e. if clan A scores 150 on cz2 and 50 on 2fort, that’s (150/2) + 50 = 75 + 50 = 125.
For Pipezone the total will be divided by 3
score of 210 on pipezone /3=70 to be added to the points of the other map for the bonus calculation.
- No-Shows.
- If a clan does a complete no-show, i.e. if no-one from the opposition teams joins the server within 15 minutes of the allotted booking time, then a default win plus maximum bonus points are awarded to the clan that showed up, to obtain this default win, sufficient proof must be shown - either server logs or referee/Admin as a witness. It is recommended you try and get in touch with your opposition before the game, so both clans are clear on the server and password being used, going to a server and waiting for 15 minutes, without telling the other clan, will not get a default win. If the other clan is only a few minutes later than was agreed, a default win will not be given, and if the first clan finds that it is now too late to play, a reschedule is recommended, this does not mean clans can be late for every match and get away with it, if it's more than a one-off thing, said clan can and will be punished.
- If the connection to the server is 'dodgy' and the opposition team is just having trouble getting their players into the server on a stable connection then some leeway must be given by the clan waiting. Hey it happens to everyone, right! In every case both clans should try and be reasonable, and agree themselves on a neutral server, only if this breaks down should you go to the Admins. The Admins will decide on a server that gives about equal ping to both clans (HPB’s mightn't be included for obvious reasons).
- The key thing to remember about no-shows is to liaise with your referee as they will be heavily involved in deciding whether or not you get the default-win - again, the reputation and good standing of your clan will be reflected by the attitude you show to other clans. Of course, if possible reschedule the match, as the idea of the league is to play games; not to settle for defaults.
Misc. Notes- Catch-up Games.
- Catch-up games can be played if a game didn't happen during its specified week. However they must be played on the designated maps for the week that was missed.
- Replacement/Standby Players
-
A five-minute leeway should be given to clans having problems getting players onto the server. This allows one restart of pre-match; any more re-starts are at the discretion of the ref. If no referee is present then it is up to the clan with the higher amount of players to decide if the map should be restarted.
(To keep games as even as possible it is advisable to have a substitute, i.e. a player on standby. He/she should be viewing via Game Spy, IRC, or Voice Communications and should only re-join the server when they are an uneven number in the opposition team's favour).
-
If a clan drops one player or more, it is considered sportsman-like to idle one of your members to match, this means he stays in re-spawn and does not take part in the game until the player who dropped returns. This is not compulsory, but reflects very well on your clan. If a clan drops two players simultaneously, than the referee will pause the match, if the match isn’t refereed than the person in control of rcon should pause the match. It is up to the rcon holder to make sure they know the necessary commands, these are:
- rcon pausable 1 //to enable the pause command
- pause //to pause the match
- rcon pausable 0 //to disable the pause command to stop people messing with it
- rcon tfc_spam_limit 99 //to allow players to speak while game is paused
When match is being un-paused do the same but also use:
Instead of the rcon tfc_spam_limit 99, so the value is returned to the uktfcl.cfg value for a match.
- Abuse of pause will result in Admin action being taken against the persons clan
- Game/Server Conditions
- Talking - If you use mm1 (messagemode1, aka. "global chat" default key is "y") to be abusive in any manner during the actual game please beware that after the ref has warned you once, he is permitted to kick you from the server. If you are being abusive towards the other clan and/or the referee he may ban you from the server the entire duration of the game and you will be subject to the disciplinary actions listed below.
- Pausing - Clans have 15 minutes to get their players onto the server after the allotted start time. During this time (in pre-match) the server can be paused to allow players to join. If two or more players drop from the server at the same time due to uncontrolled problems, the server should be paused for two minutes, or until one returns (detailed above also) If hltv is on the server it is recommended to reload the map if paused in prematch, the pausing can break hltv demo's. Clans deliberately breaking demo's will be punished.
- Lag - If you feel the server is unplayable, get your referee or any clan referee to verify the alleged conditions, and declare the match void and in need of rescheduling OR relocation to another Server.
- Servers must run the UKTFCL uktfclbanned.cfg when in UKTFCL mode. This is so players serving bans from the league cannot play in it. (file is included in the UKTFCL server configuration zip file, and is updated as needed)
- Barrysworld BWTFCL & BY bookable servers aren't UKTFCL Approved.
- Servers have to be based in Europe. Both clans have to agree on what server to use, if an agreement can not be reached an Admin will need to arbitrate.
- When playing foreign clans, a neutral server is one where both teams pings are about the same, excluding 56k players. If a server is deemed neutral by a ref or admin, you cannot refuse it's use. This is in place to stop clans abusing their home servers which can often carry a severe disadvantage for foreign clans. Home/Away should only be used if both clans agree to it, otherwise a neutral server should be found. If no servrer is neutral, home/away should be used, but only as a LAST resort.
- Server’s that are running TFC modifications such as NeoTF or bunny-hop mode, will not be approved.
- If you play on a non-approved server and there is a problem, UKTFCL will not help you. Please try and ensure that the server you use is approved, no clan will be forced to play on an unapproved server unless agreed with an Admin
The above rules are in place in order to try and make sure that everybody in the league enjoys the same server conditions as everybody else.
- Booking Time - If your match is running very late on a busy server, and at the end of your booking time you have only completed 1 map fully, the second map should be rescheduled and all players should vacate the Server. If you are on your second map and pre-match has finished then continue and finish the map. The other clans waiting to come on should wait in IRC/ICQ and only send their clan leaders in to ask how much longer the game is going to be. Server invasions due to the fact that a match has over run are not permitted and you will get penalty points if you are found to have invaded the server.
- Mercenaries - Mercenaries (also known as 'clan whores') are NOT allowed! Teams will be severely penalised by the Admins if they are found to have a mercenary. This may be in the form of penalty points and even your clans expulsion from the league. Definition of a mercenary, where the player is not a regular player in the clan and is also not listed on the web page of either the clan or the clan information page on the UKTFCL website or has not had their WON ID submitted to the UKTFCL database. Additional proof in the form of previous game screenshots, of the alleged mercenary playing may also be required.
- Dual Clanning - It is not permitted to participate in the UKTFCL for more than ONE Clan. Clans found using "dual clanners" will be heavily punished. Playing for one UKTFCL clan and one clan not in UKTFCL is fine. UKTFCL in this instance means both league and cup
- Every player in a UKTFCL clan is subject to a 10 day rule when changing clans. This means that when changing from one active UKTFCL clan to another active UKTFCL clan, you MUST wait ten days from your previous clans last UKTFCL match during which you were a member and still signed up for them on the UKTFCL clans pages. This applies to the clans last UKTFCL match whether the player played in the match or not. If the previous clan folded out of UKTFCL, then this 10 day rule does not apply. It is recommended that when a player leaves a clan, that they remove themselves from the clan’s Administration page on the website. Failure to do so means they could be subject to the ten day rule even if they'd been away from TFC for a few months or longer. It is up to the players to do this.
- Spectators - are not allowed other than HLTV, Admins and Referees
- HLTV Proxy can be run on the server if either clan wants it the IP must be given to BOTH clans before the game begins and it must be setup with a 30 second to 1 min delay. HLTV control password should be given to a ref if he/she requests it
- Team changing in game - Is not permitted since it can be used to see what classes the opposite clan are using, view their chat and also avoids a 5 second re-spawn delay. Players abusing this will find themselves punished, and if persistent, can find themselves costing their team the match in the form of a default loss.
Cheating & Punishments- What is a cheat?
-
Allegations of cheating are very, very poisonous to the whole UKTFCL atmosphere and the general feeling about clans who play in this League. Please bring all allegations of cheating first to your referee using the “tell” command (tell Admin blah blah is using grenade bug etc.) Do NOT start a slanging match with the opposition clan. The best way to deal with it is gather the evidence and play on as normal. It is also advisable to make demos, record HLTV demo's and take screenshots if you feel that the opposing team is cheating. Without solid proof there is very little that the Admins can do.
These are NOT cheats:- 8 HWG Defence on Rock2 - This is not a cheat. It's just being un-sportsmanlike.
- Bunny hopping/ strafe jumping are not cheats. Chopping IS
- Using an ammo dispenser/SG in some weird way to keep lifts up/down. Is not cheating.
- Dropping det-packs into holes is not cheating (i.e. On crossover2, from yard into basement) § Nail Grenade and Mirv Bugs are not permitted in UKTFCL; if you are found using these exploits you will be penalized.
- Exploiting a map bug is not cheating. I.e. concussion jumping out of the water tunnels in Monkey. However, due to map exploits and bugs being discovered in the beautiful game all the time, this list most probably will be extended. If a bug or cheat is not in this list and is deemed illegal points can be deducted, this is at the Admins discretion. Play fair and sportsmanlike! If you do find new map bugs the best thing you can do is post it on the forums. (N.B. Getting through the lasers without taking security down on shutdown type maps is a cheat, HW-Guys using the pipe-lip to protect them from being hit on well is a cheat, and double capping on rock2 by using the switch bug is a cheat).
- Altered rocket flares are allowed (although are outlawed in ETFCL)
- A clan using players who usually had played in higher divisions is not a cheat (as long as they are not Mercing), it isn't very nice on lower clans, but cannot be construed as cheating.
These ARE cheats:
- Chopping is counted as a cheat and is banned.
- Nemesis and sparky hook are now banned in line with ETAC guidelines.
- Bypassing VAC is a cheat and any person doing this will be dealt with severely.
- Using 'invisible spies/medic/scouts' is a cheat. If you spot this then get a referee instantly, or after the game contact the server Admin to obtain copies of the server logs.
- Using game CVAR’s to avoid Sentry Gun fire, or to wall-hack, or to avoid weapon effects is a cheat
- Getting through the lasers without taking security down on shutdown type maps is a cheat
- HW-Guys using the pipe-lip to protect them from being hit on well is a cheat.
- Double capping on rock2 by using the switch bug is a cheat.
- Using the lift on 2fort to trap a nail grenade is a cheat
- Any altered explosions that make it easier to see are illegal.
- Global timers or any modification that lets you hear your enemies grenades any different from standard is illegal
- The ONLY modifications that can be made for HWG tracers are colour and alpha value, all other modifications on this will be flagged as a cheat.
- Any console command that simulates lag is illegal.
- Team changing in game - Is not permitted since it can be used to see what classes the opposite clan are using, view their chat and also avoids a 5 second re-spawn delay. Players abusing this will find themselves punished, and if persistent, can find themselves costing their team the match in the form of a default loss.
- Use of console commands to effectively lock any axis when conc’d is illegal.
- Spectators are not allowed in a league game, with the exception of hltv and refs, disguising yourself as hltv is easily found and will be dealt with severely.
- clans/Players found 'guilty' of cheating will subject to the disciplinary action below, affiliated Leagues will be informed and appropriate action taken there too.
- Dual Clanning - It is not permitted to participate in the UKTFCL for more than ONE Clan. Clans found using "dual clanners" will be heavily punished. Playing for one UKTFCL clan and one clan not in UKTFCL is fine. Read Also the 10 day rule outlined above in game/server conditions section
-
* Mercs. - Mercenaries (also known as 'clan whores') are NOT allowed! Teams will be severely penalised by the Admins if they are found to have a mercenary. This may be in the form of penalty points and even your clans' expulsion from the league. It is up to the players to make sure they are fully registered with all correct information, and fully approved, and not the Admins, if there is a problem, tell the Admins at least 24 hours before the match is due to start.
This list is not all-inclusive and the Admin team may at any point deem something not listed here as a cheat, please look to the forums and news post for up-to-date information. A comprehensive, though not all-inclusive, list of banned cheats within the UKTFCL will be provided when possible. It is recommended that server Admins use this list for UKTFCL matches.
- If player is flagged for cheating and plays on in match, and is subsequently found guilty of cheating, clan receives a default loss for each map the player played in. If player is caught in map 2, clan receives default loss in map 1 also(if the played played in map 1). It is HIGHLY recommended that any players flagged for cheating do not play in any UKTFCL matches until their case is finished with.
- Downloading and testing of cheats is strictly forbidden, and anyone caught doing so will face the appropriate ban. If you are not meant to have cheats on your system and get caught with a cheat on your system, you will face the consequences and be banned. If no one downloaded cheats the cheat makers would get bored and hopefully do something else with their time. By downloading cheats you are supporting the continued use of cheating in online games.
- ETAC Rules additions
- ex_interp has to be at the default of 0.1 all the time.
- _special commands can not be used anymore.
- use of fullupdate is banned
- demo recording is mandatory in all ETAC leagues
-
Players caught to be using these will be banned from the league for a period of time, and the clan may face a point deduction depending on the serverity.
UKTFCLL is part of the *European TFC Admin Council (ETAC). This is an organisation consisting of admins from several of the largest leagues in European TFC. It's purpose is to promote communication between leagues, as well as sharing of resources and to provide a standard approach to important issues such as cheating. All leagues being part of ETAC will enforce mandatory demo recording. (A guide to this is found below).
Leagues who are currently being part of ETAC are: CTFCL, Vitality, UKTFCL, ECTFC, ETFCL, BYTFCL, LTFL, GTFCL and BETFCL. Hopefully more leagues will join later on.
- Demo Recording guide
-
NOTE: \"ETAC league\" means a league being part of ETAC!
Every player needs to record a demo of every ETAC league match he plays. Players don't need to upload all these demos, they only need to have demos of their last 3 ETAC League games.
So for example:
You played a Vitality match on monday, a CTFCL match on tuesday, a UKTFCL match on thursday and a GTFCL match on friday. That means you need to have demos of the CTFCL, UKTFCL and GTFCL matches available.
Every clan is limited to one accusation per match. If a clan feels certain that a player is cheating and they want to accuse him, they need to prepare a decent case for prosecuting. This includes a demo of their own where the accused player is involved and the alleged activities can be seen and a decent explenation of what they think the player is doing and when he is doing it, etc...
One the clan has completed preparing its case, the clan leader goes to see the admins of the ETAC league it happened in and hands over all the relevant information to them. When the admins have examined the demo handed over, they might ask the accused player to hand in his own demo. If this player is found \"guilty\" of cheating or using an exploit etc, the accusing clan may also accuse other players of that clan.
The accusing clan has no right to demand the demos from the accused clan themselves as it is dealt with by the admins. If the accused player can't deliver a (working) demo they will receive a warning. This warning includes that the demand that a player will need to deliver a demo from their previous played ETAC league match and their next ETAC league match.
So for example:
It's thursday: A player played a Vitality match on monday, a CTFCL match on tuesday, a UKTFCL match on thursday (thus today) and a GTFCL match is arranged for Sunday. The UKTFCL admins demand a demo from the UKTFCL match he played, but the player doesn't have a demo. That means he needs to provide the demo of the CTFCL match and the demo of the forthcoming GTFCL match.
The warning will be logged and if the player continues to ne unable to provide demos on an admin request they will be banned. The length of this ban may vary seeing as each league are free to use their own guidelines to deal with each case.
A clan can't continuously accuse players of cheating. Everytime a clan accuses someone this will be logged as well. If the admins decide that the demo did not provide conclusive proof that the accused player did cheat then the admins might not take any other accusations from that clan seriously in the future and will most likely refuse to look into them ( the amount of accusations a clan can make to each league depends on each league's guidelines ), i.e. if a clan has made too many accusations without any result then the credibility of that clan is lost.
Admins are free to randomly request demos from players as well. This is NOT because that player is being suspected ( tho' that could be the reason ), but merely to make sure all players active in the ETAC leagues record their demo. The amount of demos randomly requested may vary depending on the league. If a player can't deliver a demo after he was randomly picked then that player will receive a warning as above and have to provide the last but one demo
and their next league demo.
If a demo is requested, they are either send to the admins or upload it to a website where it can be downloaded by them. Demos uploaded should wherever possible be to a private site not accessible to the public. This upload should be via port 80 (HTTP) so anyone with web access can upload the demos. This should get about firewall/router limitations.
If a player hands over a demo that doesn't work, he will also get a warning as above. A demo that doesn't work will be seen as a demo that isn't recorded. If a player can successfully hand over a demo of the previous and first upcoming ETAC league match, the warning may be removed from the logs.
If a player gets accused several times and the admins come to the conclusion that the player is innocent, the admins may decide to refuse any future accusations versus this player.
If a player receives a ban for failing to deliver a demo, this ban will only affect the league it happened in. However, other league's are free to carry this ban over.
If a player is found to be dodgy in a demo reviewed by an ETAC league, this league will hand the demo over to other leagues in ETAC. If the members of the council comes to the conclusion the player cheated, the player is banned from all leagues who participate in ETAC.
So to summarise:
- Players record a demo of every ETAC league match they play in
- Players only need to store the demos of their latest match for every ETAC league they play in
- Clans may initially accuse only one player per match
- The accusing clan needs to prepare a decent case, including a demo of their own of that match. The actual accusation is done by the Clan Leader
- If a player fails to hand in a demo ( either a demo that wasn't recorded or a demo that didn't work ), he needs to hand in a demo of the previous ETAC league match and the first upcoming ETAC league match
- A clan that accuses innocent players too much, will lose their credibility
- Admins may decide to randomly pick players to hand in their demos
- The punishment for not handing in a demo etc, is decided by each league on it's own
NOTE: ETAC are free to make any adjustments of these rules during the season.
Here is a script to make demo recording more easy:
// RECORDING DEMOS
alias dem1 \"alias demrec dem2; messagemode record; developer 1; echo Type A Name For Your Demo; developer 0\"
alias dem2 \"alias demrec dem1; stop; developer 1; echo Demo Recording Stopped; developer 0; retry\"
alias demrec dem1
bind \"X\" \"demrec\"
At the beginning of the map, press X and enter your demo name. At the end of the map, press X again and it will stop the demo and reconnect
Version 1.0
Anti-Cheat Software-
Valve anti cheat (Vac) should be the only anti cheat software used in a uktfcl match. All other software is not to be used (hlguard, wwcl etc.) The reason for this is that there is alot of unconfigurable options and bugs with server side programs which cause too many problems in matches, added to the fact that they very rarely if ever catch the latest cheats. BW rented server's have the option of running HLGuard on them, but this version of HLGuard is meant for CS and not TFC and therefore cannot be used, so for a server to be approved, HLGuard MUST be disabled, to disable it use this guide written by [DW]Skins:
"Go to http://www.barrysworld.com/BarryServers/UserBarryServers.asp and fill in the login form. If you are the server owner, or have been granted Admin rights by the server owner, then you'll be presented with a mod selection page. Click on Team Fortress Classic (duh :p) and a new window will open up with your server CFG on it. Here you can select from a number of different configurations made by BW, or your server owner. Assuming you have it on a UKTFCL/match config, you won't need to change this. Click on the "Show Advanced" button and you'll get a list of server variables that can be changed. Don't change any of these :p Scroll right down to the bottom and the last option is "Cheat Protection Enable" Obviously you want to put no here :) Then click "Start server" and you're away."
Most jolt's have HLGuard, although how effective it is at catching cheats depends greatly on the config used.
- There will be a new etac plugin soon which once out of bug testing phase will be recommended for use on all servers. News on where to get this plugin will be on the forums http://forums.far2cool.com
Disciplinary Action for Breaking Rules- The punishments list below is intended as a guide, Admins still reserve the right to impose lower or greater punishments as the situation warrants. We recognise the clan unit and will start to impose punishments against clans knowingly allowing the breaking of the UKTFCL community's rules by their members
- Any players caught cheating will recieve permanent bans from the league.
Mercing-
Clan A = His normal clan.
Clan B = Clan he Merced for.
Player mercenaries for Clan B, Clan B knows he’s a mercenary,- Clan B = 10 Pen points.
- Player = Short ban.
Player dual clanning both clans didn’t know.
Player leave Clan A and plays for Clan B, without waiting the 10 days.
- Clan B = 5 pen points. (Subject to confirmation that the clan new this was happing)
- Player = Short ban.
Player not signed up on clan info.
- First player gets told to signup, and then if he carries on to play when not signed up he/she gets classed as Mercing.
- Player = Short ban.
- Clan A = 10 Pen points.
Not having your WONID on clan info page.
- You will be kicked from the server and NOT allow to play for the rest of the match.
- If you carry on playing without your WONID submitted, you will be given a Short ban.
- If after that you carry on playing without your WONID submitted, you will be given a Long ban.
Over 3 people Mercing in 1 season, Clan gets banned from UKTFCL for good.
- Ban Lengths:
These vary depending on the severity of the cheat involved, and can be changed at any time to suit new cases. In general the cases are as follows:
- Short ban: Player = 3 week ban (6 Matches)
- Medium ban: Player = 6 week ban (12 Matches)
- Long ban: Player = 15 week ban (30 Matches)
- Extreme ban: Player = Lifetime ban from all UKTFCL services and affiliates
In the case of the medium and short bans the length of the ban is whichever lasts longer. For the medium and short bans a default loss DOES NOT count as a game (if your clan gets a default win it does count however). Clan hopping to maximise games covered will also incur an extra ban placed on the player, if deemed necessary.
For the long ban, 15 weeks is assumed to cover the length of the season + the UKTFCL cup, if you are banned in week 5 of season 10, and given a long ban, then you will not be able to play in the UKTFCL until week 6 of season 11. If you are banned for the duration of the opening cup rounds, then you are banned from the entire cup.
An extreme ban is permanent unless the said player has shown that they have completely changed their behaviour which got them banned. Any players in this category allowed back in will be expected to show exemplary behaviour, their reprieve will basically be like a suspended sentence.
Misc.
Clan plays too many matches in 1 week (i.e. 3 matches on 2Fort and Rock2 in week 2)
- Last match gets deleted. Clan who played too many matches receives 1 penalty point.
Abuse to an Admin/ref/enemy clan IRC/Forum/Match
- First warn saying you will kick him/her next time.
- If they do it again kick them.
- If they come back and carry on ban them for 60 minutes off the server. Report will be made to a UKTFCL Admin after the match and the following will apply.
Player kicked due to excessive global talk
- Player gets banned right away without warning (if in game)
- Player = Short ban
- Clan = 6 pen points (Subject to confirmation that the clan has taken no action against player)
Player been racist towards anyone on forum/IRC/match
- Player gets banned right away without warning (if in game)
- Player = extreme ban (see "Ban Lengths" above)
- Clan = 15 pen points (Subject to confirmation that the clan has taken no action against player)
If you are caught abusing an Admin or Referee then your case will be looked at and depending on the severity of what you did the Admin team will decide your punishment (punishment can be from a week ban to a season ban)
Referee FAQ
If two or more players from the same clan lag out at the same time, pause the server (use procedure outlined in IV). The most defensive map should always be played first, the map schedule is laid out this way, refer back to it if in doubt. Default wins will only be given with sufficient reason and with the authority of an Admin, the league is about playing matches, so a reschedule is preferable at all times.
Final Word- Clan & Player Behaviour.
- The Admins and Referees who work constantly behind the scenes of this massive League, abuse from anyone will not tolerated. If you like to be foul-mouthed or up for an argument on a server, in an IRC room or in the forums then your clan will be penalised, or in extreme cases we will ban you from ALL the servers run by F2C.NET.
- If in any doubt about any of these rules.
